Community Engagement

The PCDC’s community engagement initiatives epitomize democratic values through proactive actions that positively impact the local community.

By actively identifying and offering opportunities to assist others, the PCDC enhances its impact by collaborating with diverse organizations.

  • The Rec Center of Luray and the PCDC have joined forces in various mutually beneficial endeavors.
  • A partnership has been cultivated to mobilize volunteers through Community Works, shedding light on the positive impact within the broader community.
  • Audre King, the visionary founder of Living Legacy and Rec Center, generously permits the PCDC to conduct its monthly meetings at the Rec Center, facilitating an introduction for PCDC members to the center’s services and facilities.
  • This collaboration further solidifies the connection between volunteer opportunities and community needs.

Community Works coordinates with local volunteers and other groups– like churches, nonprofits and civic organizations– to address important needs in Page County.

Our goal is to help repair trust among neighbors across the political divide, working for the common good. We’re funded by the Rural Urban Bridge Initiative and our volunteers come from Page County Democrats and other local residents with various political views.

Community works best, together.
