About Us

Building a better community extends beyond mere rhetoric.

For the PCDC, it represents a committed mission to place candidates who embody our democratic values in elected positions.

This mission includes championing initiatives aligned with our values and actively participating in hands-on projects.

Ultimately, our goal is to build a better community by shaping policies and taking various actions to support and help others in our community.

A message from our new Chairman:

Dear Page County Democratic Committee Subscribers,

This is Miles Morimoto, and I am honored to serve as the new Chair of the PCDC. As we embark on the journey towards 2024, I extend my gratitude to Skip Halpern for his dedicated leadership in the past years.

My commitment as Chair is rooted in the protection and strengthening of our democracy against imminent threats. I aim to uphold our fundamental rights, advocate for truth and facts, and unite us as Democrats under the common banner of the greater good.

Looking ahead to 2024, I envision three primary objectives for the PCDC:

    1. Winning Elections: Locally, our focus will be on identifying and nurturing quality candidates, providing them with the resources needed for success.
    2. Enhancing Organizational Effectiveness: This includes refining communication strategies and establishing clear, achievable goals for the PCDC.
    3. Community Engagement: We plan to actively participate in community actions, fostering trust among our neighbors across the County.

To achieve these goals, continuous, effective communication and increased visibility through community action are paramount. We will pursue various media activities to ensure that our values and objectives are well-known to all voters.

Unlike divisive tactics, Democrats stand for practical solutions:

    • Improved infrastructure
    • Quality public education
    • Affordable, accessible healthcare for all
    • Environmental conservation
    • National park protection
    • Workers’ rights, including a living wage
    • Personal and family rights

These critical issues, both nationally and in Page County, underscore the importance of the upcoming election year. With Senator Tim Kaine and President Joe Biden on the ballot, the time to act is now.

To turn our vision into reality, the PCDC requires your ongoing support and active participation. I am dedicated to building a robust and effective organization that yields measurable results, but your commitment is integral to the success of these efforts. The stakes for this year’s election are high, and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard our democracy and protect our rights.

Thank you for your dedication and support.
Sincerely,
Miles Morimoto
