STATE GOVERNMENT
Governor, Abigail D. Spanberger
Shegrew up just outside of Richmond, where she learned the value of public service early on from her parents. A proud product of Virginia public schools, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
As Governor, Abigail D. Spanberger will focus on bringing Virginians together, lowering costs for Virginia families, making our public schools the best in the nation, keeping our communities safe, and more. Abigail Spanberger will always put Virginia first as Governor.
the 43rd Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was sworn in on January 17, 2026, in a historic moment for the Commonwealth. Lieutenant Governor Hashmi is the first Muslim woman to be elected statewide in the nation, as well as the first South Asian American elected to statewide office in Virginia, reflecting the Commonwealth’s continued progress toward a more representative and inclusive democracy.
As the 49th Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia, my team works tirelessly to keep Virginians safe, lower costs, and protect our fundamental rights. I pledge to every Virginian that I will never stop fighting for our communities and to always put Virginians first.
