Monthly PCDC Meeting: Tuesday, September 30, 6:30 to 8:00 PM, REC Center, Luray
Please note the October PCDC meeting will be on Tuesday evening, September 30, instead of the usual Wednesday evening time. This will be the final PCDC meeting before the November election, so please attend. The REC Center is located at 630 W. Main Street in Luray. Two candidates running in the election will be joining us: Keith Guzy and Jared Burner.

Early Voting in Page County
All eyes on Virginia (and New Jersey) for our elections this year. Winsome Earle-Sears will likely be endorsed by Trump very soon, and that will open the war chest for her campaign and more attack ads in the weeks leading up to Election Day. You are encouraged to cast your ballots early from now to November 1 at the County Government Center in Luray, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Saturdays, October 25 and November 1, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Details about early voting can be found on this website: https://www.pagecounty.virginia.gov/409/Early-Voting

Also, please join us in our support of Bette Schmidt, write-in candidate for Page County District 1 School Board, and Ana Maria Mendez, candidate for District 5 School Board. Visit their websites for full information on these fellow members of PCDC.

Bette Schmidt will have a table near the entrance to the County Government Center in Luray. We are looking for some volunteers to help staff her table. This will involve greeting voters and handing out her material as the voters enter the building. The hours we are allowed to pass out materials are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Saturday, October 25 and Saturday, November 1, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm both Saturdays. Help is also needed for a phone bank. If you are interested in helping at the table or phone bank, please email us: pagecodems@gmail.com.

Canvass for Abigail Spanberger!
Most recent polling shows Winsome Earle-Sears gaining on Abigail Spanberger. In most statewide polls, they are currently nine points apart, compared to 15 points apart as was the case in June. Apparently Sears’ nonstop TV ads painting public schools as horror movie sets with “evil transgenders” lurking behind every door are working. We cannot let Virginia become another Mississippi or Oklahoma, which Sears, who once called a woman’s right to choose “genocide,” yearns to do. Get the word out and canvass, as your schedule allows. Instructions and tips will be provided for those who have not canvassed in this county yet. Full details can be found here:

Please email Mike Mudd if you are interested in canvassing for Spanberger.

Voice Your Frustration with a Letter to the Editor
Letters to the Editor are an effective way to communicate the adverse affects of the republicans and the Trump administration, particularly in regards to local issues. Page County residents are encouraged to write letters to editors of local publications like the Daily-News Record, Page Valley News, and Page News & Courier. There are several different ways PCDC members can assist you with this process, including assistance with writing the letters. Chip Taggart submitted this letter to Page Valley News (click here to view the letter). If you would like more details on how to participate in the letter-writing initiative, please email pagecodems@gmail.com
