Billboard and Lawn Sign Project

PCDC is sponsoring a major billboard and lawn sign effort this fall aimed at the many independent and moderate Republican voters of Page County. Messaging will focus on examples of economic unfairness caused by Trump’s policies that hurt Page County residents and businesses. You will see the billboards on US highways 340 and 211 in mid-August to election day.

We have a theory of how Democrats can win in Virginia—by doing slightly better than we have in heavily Republican rural counties throughout the commonwealth by carefully selected, persuasive messaging. That improvement provides the margin of victory Democrats need. Our messaging campaign will rely on canvassing to accomplish two objectives: gathering data for use in our evaluation, and obtaining permission from homeowners to place lawn signs in their yards.

Canvassers will receive a short script and instructions about how to record the data we seek. We are shooting for 300 completed interactions. We would try to obtain 100 of them at the Page County fair, and use the VAN information to go house-to-house in Luray, Stanley, and Shenandoah to obtain the remaining 200. We’d like to obtain permission for lawn signs from 125 homeowners. If you are interesting in canvassing after receiving a script and instructions, please complete the sign up form (click here).
Let’s win this thing!
