As we step into 2025, I hope everyone had a restful holiday break. While we can take pride in many of our activities in 2024, the election results were a sobering wake-up call. The key question now is how we invest our time, energy, and resources in 2025 to achieve success in this years election for Governor and local officials. Answering this question and working together will be crucial to our chances of success in 2025.
Here are some recent accomplishments that position us to execute our 2025 plan effectively:
Headquarters Update: The PCDC has decided to maintain our HQ office at 46 East Main Street, which will serve as both a meeting space and campaign headquarters as the 2025 election cycle approaches. The office is now equipped with a conference table and chairs for meetings.
Strategic Planning: A dedicated planning group has been consolidating proposals for our 2025 strategic plan. These proposals will be presented and discussed at our next meeting.
Collaborative Leadership:
As PCDC Chair, I’ve held discussions with other Democratic Committee Chairs, and we’ve agreed to meet regularly to coordinate our efforts and address common issues collaboratively.
I also reached out to the Page County GOP Chair, Mike Overfelt, to explore ways we can work together on joint projects that benefit the local community.
Public Advocacy: I authored an Op-Ed for the Page Valley News (click here) to repeal Citizens United, highlighting the threat posed by individuals like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who aim to use their wealth to fund primary challenges against any Republican in Congress opposing their positions.
Our next PCDC meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 2nd, at 6:30 PM at the Rec Center (630 W. Main St., Luray). We will review the strategic planning proposals shared during our last meeting. It’s essential that we finalize a plan we can all support to make a meaningful impact this year.
